Santa Barbara's Relax and Scrap Weekends is putting a twist on the retreat business by offering a seven day scrapbook getaway for overseas visitors.
The month of August will be here before you know it and it is time to plan your vacations now.
California is a destination that has something for everyone from beautiful oceans, palm trees, a relaxed atmosphere, and sun 300 days a year.
Just think of the memorable experience you can have visiting the central coast of California.
Santa Barbara County is 90 miles north of Los Angeles and 297 miles south of San Francisco.
Within Santa Barbara County, there is an amazing amount of environmental diversity.
In Santa Barbara, you can stroll down the streets lined with Spanish architecture, stop by a museum, people watch from an outdoor café or watch surfboarders at the beach.
A short drive away is the Santa Ynez and the quaint Danish Village of Solvang.
Solvang is a quiet town that offers Danish bakeries and architecture, endless shopping, several museums, and an outdoor theatre for summer play productions.
Just outside Solvang are miles and miles of vineyards growing world renowned grapes for pinot noir, chardonnay, syrah and voingier wines.
If wine isn't for you, there is a stunning full service casino and spa, three miles down the road in Santa Ynez.
If you would like to see an old fashion American cowboy town, Santa Ynez is the place.
The town has a popular saloon known throughout the county for its country music, line dancing, and a mechanical bull.
All Relax and Scrap Weekend retreats are based in Solvang at the Royal Copenhagen Inn.
This location was chosen for its small town appeal, uniqueness and provides a variety of activities when retreaters are not scrapbooking,
The retreat will include two half day workshops in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
While in those areas, participants will have time to explore the area. During the week, the design studio will be set up for retreaters to work on projects.
When retreaters are not participating in the scrapbook events, they have the option to participate in day excursions.
- 4 hour limousine tour to local wineries
- Photography tour through the Old Mission Santa Ines, and Mission Santa Barbara, flower fields (when in bloom) and local places of interest to get remarkable pictures.
- Day trip to Los Angeles to shop in the garment district or visit other places of interest.
The seven day Coastal California Scrapbook retreat includes lodging, continental breakfast, full lunch and dinner, day excursions, workshops,
and airport transfers from Santa Barbara Airport. The cost is $1850 double occupancy and $2400 single occupancy. Euro rates are 1,190 dbl and 1,542 single.
